The Preventive Perspective is centred on one simple idea:
Health is not something to fix. It is something to build.
We live in an age of remarkable medical innovation, yet chronic disease continues to rise. Modern healthcare excels at diagnosing and treating disease, but it remains largely reactive.
The Preventive Perspective takes a more proactive approach, exploring how to reduce disease risk by creating the conditions in which health can thrive.
Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, this approach looks at the deeper underlying dysfunctions from which disease develops, and the root causes that drive them over time.
Long-term health is shaped by the cumulative effect of inputs from our diet, lifestyle, and environment. When these consistently support biological function, resilience strengthens. When they disrupt it, disease risk rises.
By exploring the biological mechanisms that underpin both health and disease, this platform highlights the factors that influence resilience and long-term risk, and the systems that can be supported to restore balance before illness demands intervention.
Prevention is not about extreme measures, expensive protocols, or radical lifestyle overhauls. It is informed, consistent, and cumulative. It is the steady construction of long-term health.
Grounded in scientific evidence and a systems-level perspective, The Preventive Perspective translates complex biological topics into clear, practical guidance for building health and reducing disease risk.
A Note from the Founder
I’m George Jackson, a health writer specialising in preventive health and longevity science. I have an MSc in Biological Sciences and a BSc in Pharmacology. My work focuses on translating complex science into clear, practical guidance to help people better understand how to support their health and reduce disease risk.
I chose to study pharmacology because I wanted to understand how to heal the body. As I went deeper into the field, I realised that modern healthcare isn't designed to heal disease. It's designed to manage it. Treating symptoms and slowing progression but never addressing the underlying dysfunction that caused the disease in the first place.
This led me to explore the underlying dysfunctions and root causes that shape long-term health, and the ways in which they can be influenced through diet, lifestyle, and environment.
I have spent years studying how biological resilience is built over time, and the practical strategies that can support long-term health and reduce disease risk.
This work culminated in the publication of my first book, Live Stronger for Longer.
I created The Preventive Perspective to make a preventive approach to health more accessible, practical, and actionable.
